Learn with Martin Short
Explore the potential hazards lurking in the corners of your home and
learn how to avert danger. Your live video host is famed comic Martin
Short. He'll keep you and your kids entertained and informed as he
teaches you how to take the panic out of emergency situations.
System Requirements:
Windows 3.1 or later, 386DX or better computer, 4MB RAM, Windows
compatible sound card, Double-spin CD-ROM drive, SVGA card
(640x480x256 colors).

INSTALLING THE HOMESAFE CD
Windows 95
1. Click on the Start button located on your Windows 95 taskbar and
click on the Run menu option.
2. In the command line type: d:\hsetup.exe (where 'd' is the
designation of your CD-ROM drive) and click OK.
4. The Homesafe installation window will now appear on your screen.
5. Follow the installation instructions and all the necessary files
to run Homesafe will be installed to your system.
Windows 3.x
1. Insert the Home Safe CD in your CD-ROM drive.
2. To install, click on the File menu of the Program Manager, and then click on "Run...".
3. In the Command Line box, type in d:\hsetup.exe (where d: is the designation of your CD-Rom Drive) and click OK.
4. The Homesafe installation window will now appear on your screen.
5. Follow the installation instructions and all the necessary files
to run Homesafe will be installed to your system.
TROUBLESHOOTING
You do not hear any audio.
- Make sure all audio cables are connected properly.
- Adjust the volume control for your sound card.
- Re-install the Windows audio driver that came with your sound
card. If this does not work you may have to contact the
manufacturer of your sound card to obtain the most recent drivers.
You may also want to refer to your sound card manual for further
suggestions
You do not see any video or you are experiencing problems with video
play.
- Be sure you meet or excede all minimum system requirements.
- You must be sure you have the runtime version of Microsoft Video
for Windows installed on your system. If you do not have it
installed then click on the Start button on your Windows 95
taskbar and click on the Run menu option. In the command line
type d:\winvideo\setup.exe to start the Video for Windows setup.
- Make sure that all other applications are closed and Homesafe is
the only running application.
- Switch your display settings to 640x480 and 256 colours.
- If you have DOS 6.0 or later on your system run the memmaker.exe
file to maximize the amount of memory available to Windows.
Difficulties with Local Bus Video card such as crashes and being
dropped back into the operationg system.
- Change your Windows video driver to 65 thousand or 24 million
colour mode.
- Change your resolution to 640x480 or 800x600
You may also want to consult the manual that came with your local
bus video card for more suggestions.
